The Story of Us
The Story of Us began long before we dreamed there would ever be a "story of us"...We were toddling around in diapers at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Will's home church, while I was visiting my family in Wake Forest. Growing up together, we spent many days hanging out the pool, playing endless rounds of Scattergories and CatchPhrase, and having movie nights. Getting out of the "friend zone" was no easy feat, but eventually Will realized what he was looking for was there the whole time.
How He Put a Ring On It

From what I've been told, planning a proposal for me was a challenging task. I'm sorry. I've always been the type to hate surprises and this was no different. I may have been a little on guard...and my natural spy-like tendencies kicked in...

I drove to the beach to hang out with my cousin, Tara for the night and do some exploring in the area the next day. We planned to do a little sailing before returning home. We went to our favorite restaurant in Wrightsville Beach, Bluewater, when I was told there was a surprise. Tara had booked us manicures that afternoon since I was supposed to going to the mountains for 4th of July weekend--the weekend I THOUGHT he would propose...

We sampled the best glazed donuts ever at Brit's and checked out Kure Beach before heading to the dock for our sunset sail. We boarded the boat, cast off the lines, and we were off. Once we were out in the river, the captain said it would be a great time to take some photos. We love taking photos, so I ran to the bow and struck my best pose--the one from Titanic, my favorite movie. When I turn around, Will is standing there. I was overtaken with shock and began to cry (which I never do). Will got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Through the sobbing, I was able to nod and mumble "YES!"

...and then
We welcomed a new furry friend into our lives, a chocolate lab named Beau! We are working hard to renovate our future home. In May, Will will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures. I will also graduate in May with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a concentration in Interpersonal Communication.
